The EZ-Adapter Ex MB931U-1VB R1 provides SMB, power users, and media professionals the quickest and easiest way to access their enterprise-level U.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs. The EZ-Adapter Ex utilizes a 10Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface and is compatible with the USB 2.0 and Thunderbolt interfaces for best system compatibility. In addition, the tool-less drive installation design allows users to transfer large files from multiple U.2 SSDs to any computer through a USB connection without having NVMe support on the computer end.
Access Your NVMe SSD with or without a drive trayThe all-new re-engineered EZConvert Ex MB931U-1VB R1 eliminated the drive guider to accommodate third-party drive caddy/trays from Dell, HP, SuperMicro, and other manufacturers. This redesign creates an even more efficient way of accessing data as the U.2 SSDs no longer need to be unscrewed or disassembled from their drive trays. The tool-less drive installation allows the MB931U-1VB R1 to swap multiple drives within seconds, making the process seamless.

However, accessing U.2 drive required an NVMe host and specific cables, making the data transfer between the systems almost impossible. Q: I installed the and the device is connected to my computer, but the drive is not detected.
A: There are some scenarios you can do to rule out potential problems.
Scenario 1 – Drive status LED is not lighting up
Scenario 2 - The drive status LED lights up, but the SSD is still not detectable
Scenario 3 - The SSD and the connected USB port do work normally, but the drive does not show up on my computer after connecting to my computer

Q: Is there any known compatibility issue between EZ-Adapter Ex MB931U-1VB R1 and U.2 NVMe SSDs?
A: The EZ-Adapter Ex MB931U-1VB R1 uses an ASMeida ASM2362 chipset and is designed to be compatible with most of the U.2 NVMe SSD available on the market. See below for the latest known issues reported by the users and a list of compatible SSDs.
Note: the SSD issues listed below have only been reported by a few customers. It is still too early to say they are not compatible as the issues may be caused by SSD firmware and host configurations. We are verifying the compatibility with ASMedia and will constantly update the compatibility list. Meanwhile, we suggest using SSDs that are known to be worked with EZ-Adapter Ex MB931U-1VB R1.
